MICROSOFT PARTNERS WITH USCCG TO ROLL OUT NEW BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS

Consulting firm to roll out new Lean initiative for manufacturing companies

Tampa, FL, February 27, 2006 - In its latest strategy for improving its interface with key clients, Microsoft Corporation has tapped Tampa-based USC Consulting Group (USCCG) to roll out its new Lean technology for manufacturing companies.

Microsoft has redesigned its approach to key clients and prospects by developing a “trusted advisor” role in which they help their clients who use Microsoft applications solve real business problems. To that end, the company formed an industry solutions group with a manufacturing vertical dedicated to Lean practices using an application called LeanView™, which was designed by the Orlando Software Group, Inc. (OSGi) and runs on Microsoft applications.

USCCG is now a Microsoft Certified Partner - entered the picture as an early user of LeanView with a well-established track record for successful implementations of Lean practices within the manufacturing sector. OSGi asked the consulting firm to develop a Lean curriculum to help instruct users of LeanView, based on USCCG’s own e-learning platform, M-Abler®. When OSGi introduced the concept to Microsoft and they learned more about USCCG’s broader capabilities, they recognized USCCG as a “turnkey” provider that bundles consulting, technology and e-learning, as well as supporting LeanView, into one package for clients and prospects.

“What differentiated us from other consulting firms,” says Jim Ostrosky, USCCG’s senior vice president for product development and technology, “was our pro-technology approach to business solutions. We have found successful ways to build technology into our offerings. We use technology as an enabler and a sustainer. We use it to enable the change process and sustain the results that we deliver in the course of completing our engagements with clients. When Microsoft looked at what we’d done for our clients, they felt we were the right company to help move their initiative forward.”

USCCG’s efforts will be led by Margaret Wilson, operations manager. According to Mr. Ostrosky, “Margaret understands Lean and she understands technology and she’s disciplined and organized. She has had tremendous success with all our clients over the past six years, so she is the perfect person to interface with Microsoft and OSGi, as well as clients and prospects.
