USCCG EXECUTIVE TO PRESENT REAL-WORLD TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AT IT GOVERNANCE FOR HEALTHCARE CONFERENCE
TAMPA - The IT Governance for Healthcare Conference, to be held in Boston in late July will feature a workshop by John D'Alesandro, head of USC Consulting Group's healthcare practice.
Titled "Real-World Technology Strategy: How to Deliver Value Today that Funds Long-term Requirements," the workshop will focus on methods and tools for developing a healthcare technology strategy that will create measurable value in real dollar terms. The presentation will include:
- Critical aspects of IT strategy
- Environmental assessment and forecasting
- Skills inventory
- IT processes and measures
- Organization and governance
- Working within a larger health system
- Building the benefits case.
"Too often IT strategy is a technologist's vision of systems and tools and does not align with a hospital's strategy, culture, process, people or organizational structure.
Without doubt, information technology has the power to provide a healthcare organization with a competitive advantage," says Mr. D'Alesandro. "And the advantage can be truly significant, given the fact that IT failures have far outnumbered successes in recent years. With hospitals currently in the spotlight, there is no room for the huge public failures of the past. Big bets on IT need to be carefully formulated so they are funded and executed without compromise."
The two-day national conference is hosted by New York-based global business research company International Quality and Productivity Center and will be held at the Hyatt Harborside Hotel. Mr. D'Alesandro's workshop will take place at 11:15 on July 25th.
