USCCG EXECUTIVE FEATURED SPEAKER AT NORTHWEST FOOD EXPO
Focus on optimizing raw materials, physical assets and human resources
TAMPA – USC
Consulting Group Western Regional Manager and Senior Analyst David Riggs will
be a featured speaker at the 90th Annual Food Manufacturing & Packaging
Exposition in Portland, Oregon, in January.
Mr. Riggs’ presentation, titled Improving Productivity of Raw
Materials, Physical Assets and Human Resources, will feature case histories
that focus on common issues and opportunities within the food industry.
In addition, he will address such key areas of industry concern as how
best to improve material yields, reduce process variation and take advantage
of automated solutions. The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, January
20, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., Pavilion B in the Exhibit Hall.
“Through the design, development and implementation of enhanced operating
practices,” according to Mr. Riggs, “our food processing clients
have been able to realize improvements in bottom line operating earnings
and return on net assets by gaining leverage in the three key areas of operating
effectiveness that we will address.”
Mr. Riggs brings extensive experience to his topic, not only in food processing,
but in numerous other industries from which he has drawn best practices.
He also taps USCCG’s more than two decades of experience in the food
processing field with such companies as ConAgra, Carolina Turkeys, Coca-Cola,
Cuddy Food
Products, Foster Farms, Sara Lee and Tyson Foods. Mr. Riggs holds a BSc and
Diploma in industrial engineering form Mohawk College of Applied Science
and Technology
and has been a member of APICS for over 12 years.
The expo, sponsored by the Northwest Food Processors Association, will
host 460 exhibitors from the U.S., Canada and Europe at the 150,000-square-foot
Oregon Convention Center, January 19 – 21. USCCG representatives
will be located in booth # 412 of the Productivity Pavilion.
